This is actually the story of how we met from the perspective of my fiance. He would probably kill me if he knew that i put his story on here. But...Enjoy!
'The first time I saw Vanessa was at her job in the mall. I know most of you might not believe in love at first sight, but I must say that the very moment I met eyes with Vanessa, I knew she was the girl for me. She routinely smiled at me and asked me if I needed assistance, and after an ill attempt by me to extend conversation she swiftly moved on to assist the other customers in the store. Maybe it was her smile, maybe it was the way she cackled at me as I clumsily tried to strike conversation, or maybe it was the fact that she was just about the cutest thing I???d ever seen wear a pair of denim overalls and a ponytail, but after I left the mall on that balmy afternoon I couldn???t get her out of my mind.
In the following months I???d think about her often, and occasionally I would stop back into the store to see if she was working, but I???d never seem to catch her. The ghost of the mall girl had just about slipped my mind when on a routine weekend visit to a local underage hang out my life took a drastic turn. As I stood in line awaiting entry into the venue I looked through the front windows and there she was, the mall girl in all her glory, laughing and chatting with her friends. She seemed to have an angelic glow beaming on her from above that glimmered and reflected off of her long curly brown hair (later I came to realize that the glow was just coming from the light that was strategically placed above the pool table that she was leaning on, but never the less, she still looked beautiful.) I entered the club, went straight to the bar, ordered a Coca Cola Classic, and started to concoct a game plan. Maybe it was the caffeine and artificial flavoring, but I eventually gathered up enough courage to confront Vanessa and her group of girlfriends (on a side note: my mother always told me never to confront a girl when she is with a group of her girlfriends because, as was all know, that is a dangerous situation for a weak willed single man like myself at the time. But hey, sometimes you have to do different than your mother tells you. Sorry Mom.) And the rest is history.'

I met my fiancee on 27th April, I was with someone else and we were only meant to be meeting as friends (met on the net) but we clicked immediately. He had previously invited me to a army ball in January that was happening on 30th June as his friend but we started seeing each other and I was proud to go as his girlfriend.
He introduced me to all his friends and work colleagues etc and said we'd got engaged, I wound him up all night saying that he'd not done the deed yet so he got down on one knee in front of 250 squaddies and asked me to marry him and of course I said yes. The pic is on the front of our site.
We decided it would be engaged to be married as we'd both been engaged before and knew what peoples response would be. So we set the date for his summer leave next year.
We've been together 6 months today and yes people will say we are still in our honeymoon period but we can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together. Hes going away in a few weeks to Iraq though so won't be home for christmas which we are both gutted about that we can't spend our first xmas together. But I went to the metro centre last night and bought him a St Christopher necklace. I'm paying the church off next Wednesday so going to get the father to bless it. Then we are having an early christmas day together before he goes. So I suppose at least I get to celebrate christmas twice lol.

My romantic story is about how my fiance proposed.
We had gone over to our house, which we were renovating, after work and he gave me a note as we enter the house. It was a treasure hunt! at the end it said 'will you answer the question?' and then he got down on one knee in the plaster dust and proposed.

Edited by RebeccaCookes, 27 Oct 2006 at 11:39AM:Edited by RebeccaCookes, 27 Oct 2006 at 11:38AM:My story is slightly different its not about how we met or how he proposed (however both were very special) but just some thing I was told that touched me and I think its some thing we should all consider when we are married... I asked my nan in law to be if she had any advice on marriage, as her and my to my grandad in law to be are so happy and still very much in love, and they are just how I want us to be in years to come. She said... 'Be prepared to forgive, always look forward never look back. Love, laughter, listening and a little luck will get you through most of life's hurdles, but mostly kiss. Kiss all the time!' I thought this was soooo romantic and sweet and will remember it forever. xx

My H2B is always romantic but the thing that will always stick in my head was when we first met. It was my birthday about a month after and I worked at a pub we lived about 35 miles apart but I had taken the day off of work for my birthday on the friday and so had he. The day before my birthday he sent me a big bouquet of flowers to my daytime work and then I had to go and work in the pub in the evening and travel down to his house at 11.45pm after my shift. When I arrived I took my 'overnight' bag to the bedroom and there was balloons, ribbons and birthday confetti over my side of the bed. My present, card and a bottle of bubbly on my pillow with a note saying I had fresh strawberries in the fridge.
The day of my birthday we spent a really lovely day over Bicester shopping village, had a spot of lunch and coffee. He made my dinner and we shared the bottle of bubbly and strawberries and he had fireworks for the evening. My birthday in on St. Georges Day and he is very patriotic, so not only has he got the girlie of his dreams but I am a St Georges Baby also.
He proposed to me on Valentines day this year as I woke up and the first person I told was my dad because it was his birthday and my dad cried down the phone and said that it was the most precious present that he has ever had.

I don't actually remember the first time I met my fiancee. Apparently, we were introduced on the bus, but I was exremely preoccupied that day, and I don't think I even looked at him. His first impression of me was actually that I was an extremely rude .
The next time we met was at church. Again we were introduced; we were getting a ride home from the same people that night. I shook his hand, and looked into his eyes, and thought 'Wow!, this one is a potential.' There was just this feeling of connectedness when I looked into his eyes.
About a week later, I missed my bus and was forced to take the bus home a half hour later than I normally would otherwise. That day, I ran into him on the bus again. We struck up a conversation and really hit it off. for about three weeks after that, I 'missed the bus' every single day, just so I could spend the fifteen minutes talking to him.
I found out later that his car had just broken down, and this was one of the first times he had ridden the bus. He also had missed the bus that day, and was on a bus a half-hour later than he otherwise would have been.
So as it turned out, for about three weeks, we were both 'missing the bus' just to talk to each other.

I have to say I think without a doubt the most romantic thing we have done is when I was walking up the aisle and Kieran turned round to watch me walking towards him to become his wife, he had a huge single tear running down his face, and when we said our vows, we faced each other and looked into each others eyes it was only us in that room in our own little bubble as we became husband and wife, it was very very romantic.
