We are similar to Vix and Leila. Our venue is relaxed and informal, no airs and graces with us!
The funicular (mountain) railway taking guests from the base station to the restaurant at the top of the mountain should be something of a fun talking point.
Our place settings are actually small envelopes containing a lottery ticket for each guest so we will get the MC to read out the numbers when everyone is still seated.
The band are also fun, upbeat and very scottish - highland flings all round woooohoooo! No slow slushy songs during our evening reception, when I've been to weddings in the past they just kill the atmosphere. We will be playing a CD of our (my) favourite love songs during dinner as background music. Night time is strictly party time

To add that extra bit of fun to our day. We're having Crackers with goodies in as wedding favours / place settings (as it is over the Christmas holidays). In the crackers we're going to have stick on moustaches, bubbles, fortune telling fish etc. Then Father Christmas is going to make a special visit and assist us in handing out our wedding gifts. Inbetween courses during the meal we're having a pub quiz type thing.

Our venue has a suprise that we haven't told the guests about, there are hot tubs on the roof with the most amazing views. The non-resident guests have to leave by eleven, but all our close friends and family will be staying at the venue with us. We plan to end the evening with fireworks and champagne in the hot tub. We'll provide spare swimming costumes/trunks for those guests who came unprepared. We're also having other things during the day like archery

I guess ours will be fun as about 30 friends/family are coming to India with us for our wedding.
We are gonna have girly shopping days for sparkly shoes and jewellery and beautiful clothes and go on trips to an elephant sanctuary, spice farms and waterfalls, not to mention chilling on the gorgeous Goan beaches. Our group of friends often go away together bu t have never been abroad together yet and it will be such an adventure!

our wedding will be fun cos it is at the zoo, so hopefully it will be exciting for them & the geusts are allowed to go for a look around, so they won't be bored while were getting our photo's done!
thinking about a pinata (spl) for the kids, but i need to check about this with the venue. making up wee bags for them too with puzzles.
think we will do the speech lotto too
